Fading Beauty

Fading Beauty

She never once said

I wasn't sufficient enough

to be her everything,

I asked her to live outside of her comfort.

We fit together like

Vermont and New Hampshire

with island fantasies,

but I needed to see the shores.

She gave me a reason

to trust in another's opinion

and she made me feel secure,

but,

my pen doesn't bleed anymore.

You have mastered the art of being focused and concise in your articulation of ideas that are broad enough to relate to your audience, but specific enough to speak true to your personal experience. I often best paint my stories in longwinded strokes, then have to rip it to its core. And I love the last line of this one. Awesome. Two Snaps!
